Scorpions- one last sting!!

We all remember the hard n heavy music of the 1980's metal scene. Well, there was one band in particular that was already kickin' butt waaay before any of those poser so-called metal bands.(Guns n roses, this means u.) Their name-The Scorpions!!! They were the ultimate inspiration for other German metal bands who followed in their footsteps. (Accept and DIE TITEN HOSEN, just to name a few.) The were arguably one of the most successful bands of the 1980's with songs like "Rock you like a hurricane." Also, they are one of the most under-rated bands EVER. Other metal bands have basically tarnished everything cool about metal. Metal isn't just about getting glammed out with make-up and high heels. Metal is really about hard n heavy music that is more than capable of tearing out your speaker cones and giving you major migranes.

For those who like the fake-metal, you're in luck. The Scorpions are embarking on their official farewell tour this summer. So, when their done, there will practically be no metal left. By that, I mean no good metal like back in the 1980's. Guns n roses has gone POP, so there will be no more head-banging. You should be ASHAMED!!

Glam metal rocks!!!

In the late 1970's and 1980's, there was a lot of good music floating around. But, there was one genre that was the most popular. That genre was Glam metal. Glam metal was a type of music that was just like regular metal, but everyone in the band had ridiculously long hair. A few of the most popular Glam metal bands are Skid Row, Nelson, Guns n' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Poison, FireHouse, W.a.s.p, L.A Guns, Motley Crue, Winger, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard,
Bon Jovi, and, Europe.
As you know, there are a lot of Glam Metal bands out there. I suggest listneing to all of them.
Because looks and music do go together. (As long as they are both good.)

Queen,still kickin' butt, Mercury style!!

In 1973, a band was formed in London,England known as Queen.
Their first album was a big success in the united Kingdom, but,in america, nobody really cared.
At least nobody in America cared until 1974, when Queen released "Sheer heart attack",the album off which the Queen classic"Killer queen" were released.
That song got major airtime on American radio, but they just couldn't find a real well known hit album. Then, in 1975, Queen released "A night at the opera". off that album, two of the greatest Queen songs ever."You're my best friend", and "Bohemian Rhapsody". Both songs were mega-hits in the U.S.

Then, in 1991, the world was saddened by the loss of Freddie Mercury, The lead singer of Queen. The next year, a tribute concert was held in his memory.

Freddie Mercury and Queen will live on as one of the greatest rock bands ever.

Kiss, still alive .

After 36 years of make-up and spandex, Kiss is still bustin' out the hard rock.
They will soon be starting their first tour in a while. Go to kiss.com to vote on the tour spots.
What that means is if some small town gets more votes than some huge city like Minnesota,
Kiss will play the small town instead of Minnesota.

It's hard to believe that Kiss has been around for 36 years with the original line-up.
However, after the tour, frontman Gene simmons will return to his solo career.

Kiss is truly one of the best bands ever.
I hope that they will be around for a long time to come.

Woodstock, 3 days of love, peace, and (good) music.

In August, 1969, an event happend that was so big it changed history forever. And, that event is Woodstock.
Woodstock was the first ever rock festival. Three days of rock from bands like The Who, The Greatful dead, and, The great, Jimi Hendrix!

So much great music, but what was Woodstock really about?
Woodstock was really about people getting together through tough times to enjoy just three days of world peace.

Woodstock will live on forever as the greatest event in rock history.

Guns n Roses, still rockin' hard!!!

In 1987, 5 ordinary teenagers living in L.A decided to form a band called Guns n roses.
Their first tour stunk, but when they went pro, they made a bang on the 1980's glam-metal scene.
They produced 6 studio albums (and 1 live album.) And just when it seemed like it would never end, it ended.
In 1996, front man Axl Rose bought the sole copyright of Guns n roses. Slash left after that. Matt Sorem, the drummer, and bassist, Duff Mckagan left with him and the three of them formed the successful band, Velvet Revolver.
While a reunion might never happen, the g.n.r legacy will live on, because Axl is currently touring with a new Guns n Roses line-up. Rock on G.N.R!!!

Twisted Sister, 27 years later.

They belted out anthems like," we're not gonna take it", and, " I wanna rock.",
Their lead singer had to testify in congress, but twisted sister really is one of the greatest bands of all time.
They started rockin' in 1985, but in 1987, they decided to split.
However, the band recently released a christmas album and went on tour to support it.

When not touring with the rest of the band, Lead singer, Dee snider lives in suburban California raising his two kids.

Twisted Sister will forever be one of the greatest bands EVER !!!!!
